FOR THE LOVE OF A GRACEFUL GOD!...What type of “fan”...pays ($100), for the right and privilege to be part of their favorite hometown college team’s official, football information website, where they are privy to a lot of non-publicized, sometimes inside, confidentially ascertained information. And by NOW, after it has been broached semi-ad nauseumly...not a word...on said very forum, that true Sr.
(Zack McCloud) future status is as follows:
1- Zack approached Coach Diaz a few weeks ago and offered to take a Redshirt this year and return to the team next year.
2- In part due to his not having the opportunity to reach his full, self-expected potential, due to, save for his Frosh season, not ever being totally (100%) healthy (Shoulder/Wrist) until this, his lastyear/Sr. campaign.
3- And factor in the advent of the new Striker Position (2) years ago, which he was prolley never really perfectly suited for...not fluid enough in the hips, and also not being the most adept at pass coverage against “sometimes” a teams’ (Slot Receiver), prolley due to non top end DB like speed.
4- This was/is a perfect scenario for player/team/program/defense and coach...to wit.
***Stud will finally be (100%) healthy and I think, be a much needed Playmaker on defense next year, due to his disruptive, downfield-pursuing, disruptive style of play that we’ve all,seen glimpses of throughout his career. I think he puts it all together next year!
***Will provide much needed, well respected, Upper class-man Sr. leadership.
***Top (2), 4-year Starters, leading tacklers, locker room leading LB’s are both graduating, and therefore will be leaving a huge void at said position, (both on and off the field) on said defense and overall team.
***Plan/timing seemed to be perfect...(with one minor “potential” hiccup). Zack had only played in (3) games at that juncture when he originally presented his plan to Redshirt to Coach Diaz...and as some/most of you know, a newly minted NCAA eligibility rule, denotes that any eligible player can qualify for a Redshirt as long as they have only participated in a maximum of (4) games, even for ONE play in the current season...why Coach Manny-D has decided to burn several promising Frosh’s Shirts this year, by playing them in nonsensical situations, is mind-numbingly exasperating at best, and is a topic for discussion on another day...but Coach’s/Zack’s plan was, since he’s already played in (3) games, their hope was to hold him out and let him play that (4th) allowable game, in our upcoming bowl game which some of you disrespectfully didn’t even think we would qualify for...lol
***Plan was almost blowed-up...thx. Emmitt Smith...when (Pinckney) got dinged up a couple of games ago...I forget which one...and Zack had to fill in for him, essentially putting a big ass Monkey Wrench into the original (Mise-en-Scène)
But the a Redshirt is obviously still very much in play...just no Bowl game action for Zack...”Action-Zackson”...yep, had to do it fellas...
OK, no more...”We in trouble at LB next year, how we goan replace Shaq, Pinckney and McCloud.”
