He is not the only candidate I am not sure he is necessarily the best candidate (but he is far better than what we have and the Miami connection makes him an obvious candidate).
It is clear Manny is in over his head. His record is bad, it is made worse by the fact if you look at how many times he has lost as a favorite it is really bad. His decision to take on defensive duties as a first time head coach was one of the DUMBEST decisions ever. Nick Saban hires strong DC's (Pruitt, Smart etc). And he is the best defensive mind in the game.
The fact that people are worried that Miami may whiff on a top choice therefore they should think again about firing Manny need to get with it. Program is going nowhere with him. The ACC was taylor made for Miami to win it this year going away. You can argue the close losses I will argue why can't they win games by more than 1 score against mediocre teams? Notre Dame is a fringe top 10 team. They WAXED Virginia at UVA.
Time to move on, I'll take my chances with a new AD and new search even if it is not Mario.
