I have a lot of respect for these kids taking the path less traveled, and trying to create a movement. I also understand there might be some NIL money or other financial benefit to making these decisions. Here would be the only concern, if I am in elite talent.
Generally speaking, I am not playing against elite talent moving forward in college, and from my understanding, with some exceptions, the skill level of some of the athletes are not at the same level as power five athletes. From a development standpoint, I think this could ultimately be harmful for the draft, unless, of course, some kid is a sure fire can’t miss first rounder. But as an NFL pro scout, would you be worried that you’re spending millions of dollars gambling on a kid who balled out against substantially smaller and less talented individuals for 2 to 3 years in college? Curious as to everyone’s thoughts on this.
