Okay, against my better judgement I will give this a try....because I am not sure how old you are but you either don't know how the government works or don't care. The United States has 3 Branches of government.
The Executive. (Run by the president)
The Legislative. (Run by Congress)
The Judicial Branch. (Headed by the supreme court)
Barack Obama was the president. That doesn't mean he has any control over the other branches. This is a system of checks and balances in place to protect our democracy. For example, just because Trump wants to ban people from other countries or religions as the president, that doesn't mean he is going to be allowed to do it...or at least do it without major checks.
The article is focused on gerrymandering. This falls under the purview of the Judicial branch. The president doesn't head the judicial branch. There is nothing the president does that dictates anything the judicial branch does. That is for all of our protection. You and I have just as much power as the president in regards to the judicial branch other than appointing judges that run it. Even then, there are prior judges there that have lifetime appointments.

So you need to understand what gerrymandering is. It isn't changing a law. It is making sure the district lines that are drawn are truly representative of the district. It means if there are in fact a high number of minorities in a district, the law says they get representation in the form of a congressman. Following so far? What was happening is the true district lines were not being represented so minorities were not getting the representations their votes legally should represent.

All Obama is doing is making sure the districts are aligned with how they truly are. Challenging the falsehoods and winning that with concrete evidence in court.
The president isn't elected to get caught up in legal battles in the Judicial branch. His job is to run the executive branch. Now, he is a citizen like us, he has just as much power to challenge what is illegal.
Somehow I get the feeling you still don't understand this....lol So, again. I am telling you. Ummmm, he was the president of the United States.

I don't rate the judges opinion by their political affiliation. Why? Because they are a judge and my opinion does not matter. That is the democracy that is our country's foundation. It isn't my job to apply anything. I live with and accept rulings. Nobody cares if I agree...and sometimes I don't but it doesn't matter.

Ok so again your attempt at deflection and not answering a direct question shows your weak! There's advocate judges in every court which apply the law how they see it. Suppress court a perfect example! Typical deflection, you can't answer a direct question because you know I'm correct
