This doesn't really affect me since I use a VPN but this is just hilarious how Trump has signed this piece of legislation which is GOP sponsored. Data will be collected for sale and guess what the next step is? Government is authorizing the use of private info.

All of our privacy is out of the window with this law...and republicans should be outraged. I am an IT professional and I just shake my head and laugh at how republicans are okay with this.

ISP's can sell anything on your web browser. You have no privacy now and most people don't know what to do to protect themselves.

Hate to say I told ya so but Trump doesn't give a crap about anyone but himself and his rich friends. Everyone else means absolutely nothing to him. Sorry you were taken by a con man.

Frankly, I was surprised this bill is supported by Republicans. For years they have preached love of country and the sanctity of privacy. This is a direct result of Trump's greed and the cronyism in his administration.

Why doesn't Trump divest himself from his holdings? Why does he still maintain ownership in his hotel in DC? His failure to divest is a direct result of his greed. As for his cronyism, look no further than his cabinet and WH posts, in particular, Kushner, Ivanka, Susan Dumbo DeVos and Rick Perry. These people are not qualified for their jobs.

Again do you know this as fact?? I don't I don't know if anyone does. You think he became president to make money? That makes no sense! Only Clintons have done that. Keep laughing, Obama allowed Google and other search engines collect the data. Trump is letting isp's also do it. Where was the issue when Obama let search engines do it? However, I don't like any entity collecting the data.

Please. I'm an IT professional....please don't do this because you will be embarrassed in a New York minute. Google does not sell our private information. That's ridiculous. Search engines do not sell our private information. They sell advertising or something referred to as optimization through algorithms. You are free to use any search engine you want to use and many do not sell this service either. However, none of them sell our personal data. Stop being completely ridiculous and know what you are talking about.

Thats why he paid close to 23 million in taxes , highest tax bracket Obama and Clinton were way lower please explain.........he is not even taking a paycheck as president........

Trump's refusal to divest will result in biggly returns to his empire. Have you heard of the emoluments clause? This law forbids the president from accepting compensation from foreign government without congress approval. That hotel he owns in DC, Mara Lago, other hotels he owns or golf courses all could be in violation of this law.

As for cronyism, his daughter and son-in-law are great examples. This is not about jealousy but merely wanting Trump to abide by the constitution.

For once your correct I deleted my last post because you've been taking such a beating onto spelling and grammar police. Are you serious?? Your in denial you really are! I've posted TWO articles!! And sell your info?? Now your changing topics, I've only argued the Govt had been in cahoots with all these Texh companies giving out our info!! PBS Frontline did a great layout how it started under Bush and EXPANDED under Osama! And again these programs EXPANDED under the Socialist regime under the now revoked Nobel Peace prize winner!

I have been an IT professional for about 35 years now in some capacity. I manage projects for the second largest IT VAR in America. Do you seriously think I don't know who collects our data and what it is used for? I set up managed services. What this administration has just done has not gone on for years. They are allowing ISP's to sell your data to the highest bidder. You are jumping up and down over something that is irrelevant....because this is one of the very few issues that are bi partisan. I think I saw a number that 80% republicans and democrats are against this....and you are going on about data collection from search engines and social media? That is not what this is about. It is what ISP's (Internet Service Providers) are doing with the information is what it is about.
