Another $200 million saved... Amazing how they think we own them this money!!!

The Trump administration has cut about $200 million in development aid to Palestine, announcing Friday the money would be allocated to "high-priority projects elsewhere."

"At the direction of President Trump, we have undertaken a review of U.S. assistance to the Palestinian Authority and in the West Bank and Gaza to ensure these funds are spent in accordance with U.S. national interests and provide value to the U.S. taxpayer," said the State Department. "This decision takes into account the challenges the international community faces in providing assistance in Gaza, where Hamas control endangers the lives of Gaza's citizens and degrades an already dire humanitarian and economic situation."

The Palestine Liberation Organization condemned the decision, labeling it "the use of cheap blackmail as a political tool" and vowing not to "be intimidated [or] succumb to coercion."

Trump on Twitter earlier this year claimed "we pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect." He threatened to withdraw U.S. aid as a means of forcing Palestinian leaders to the negotiating table with Israel. Trump cited his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel as a boon to peace talks, but most experts believe the recognition made diplomacy more difficult.

Interesting, and glad we did it.
I went Israel in 2017 hoping that I would come back with a better understanding of the situation there but I came back even more confused. The Israeli population is a mix of all religions and tolerance is shown toward all by the Jews. The Israelis don't seem to hold any animus against the Arabs, but it sure doesn't go the other way.
We had to have armed security when in the Arab sections and even then a lady in our group was slapped to the ground by an Arab man. (probably because she had shorts on)
Recognizing Jerusalem as the capital was the right thing to do even if it wasn't politically correct because it IS the capital.
The hatred the Palestinians have towards Israel and the US is difficult to understand. I'm sure they have their good reasons but I certainly can't understand their prospective on condemning the hands that feed them...so cut the aid. Force them to the table to negotiate.

It's simple .. Arabs are pretty crazy and they have viewed that territory as THEIRS period and despise the US and Israel for protecting Israel as well as the West Bank and Gaza Strip that Israel claimed in the 6 day war. They are as rational as BLM.

If I am them I just wait until Trump is arrested and then wait again until 2020. Mainly because Trump is not a legitimate president anyway. He won under very dubious circumstances to say the least.

Boy, the Russians are good...and for the life of me I don’t understand why they would want a strong America. They won’t be able to buy any more precious uranium now either...guess they got all they needed.

I agree with some of your post but this one is nuts.
Yep I agree with some of his football he is spot on sometimes. But when it comes to politics he is a far left communist and hates successful people and Capitalism. Then when you debate policy with him and he has no answer he will insult you so then you insult him back then he takes that post and turns you in to Gary to make you look like a real bad person then puts you on ignore lol.

Maybe I have become a softy as I get older......but give the opponent (Palestinians) 200g so at least it looks like they're not being kicked while being buried six feet under. Optics are everything....lol.

Vert similar experience but 45 years earlier. Landed at Beirut airport in 1971 ( tanks in between runways & machine gun nests on roof of terminal ). As you left the airport the street was lined with beautiful cedar trees. Then you looked to the right and here were the massive Palestinian refugee camps. Remember Lebanon was Muslim majority but Christian run. As an eighteen year old all I could think was this is never getting fixed. These people who occupied that land now living in total squalor because the world tells them it is rightfully the Jews land and show them passages from a book they don’t believe in as proof. I know it’s deeper and more complex but that’s how I saw it 45 years ago. Wanted to go to Israel but at the time if you had a visa to Arab country in passport they denied entry.
