What happened to our Country Goya Foods and Liberals

Yesterday President Trump announced the Latin American economic package to assist Latin American business in our country. Nice beautiful ceremony in the Rose Garden. Lots of dignitaries. A very nice package. During the ceremony Trump asks the CEO of Goya Foods to speak. The CEO of Goya is the son of the founder of Goya. The father came to America in the 1930's(?) started a company and grew it to the largest Hispanic Owned business in America headquartered in New Jersey. Goya was the 1st company with food in Puerto Rico after the hurricanes and gives to over 300 charities and food banks around the world millions and millions of pounds of food products each year placing it among the top of charitable corporations. Yesterday the CEO of Goya thanked Trump, praised Trump during the ceremony. Today AOC, the Castro brothers and other liberals are now calling for the BOYCOTT of Goya foods because of his praise of Trump. WTF is wrong with these people? These liberals are ruining our country and teaching our youth that when you disagree you must PUNISH the person you disagree with. This is so freaking mind blowing. Lets boycott Goya, hurt their sales, hurt their workers, hurt their ability to supply food to charities because he praised Trump. Not in my Country!! You liberals suck azz.

That is because if more of their constituents followed this path or even one slightly resembling it they would find themselves to be fully self reliant, fulfilled in life not needing to blame others for the things they don't have, and help to help those less fortunate for them. This would be horrible for AOC and the like because they would be unemployed and would have to go get a real job (perhaps Goya would be kind and hire them). I am usually very anti unemployment, but those are job losses I would love to see.

What folks do not understand when all the working tax payers have had enough this place will crumble. Football players will play just for a meal, movie stars will not exist, no food will be in stores, Wars will break out. They do not believe in capitalism. I Ask all liberals to show me one communist country they would love to live in . And then ask themselves what are they doing here if that is the case. I will wait for response.

If you suck up to Trump, consumers have the right to not buy your products as a measure of expressing their disapproval. This applies to any politician.

I agree with you 100%, but I can say it saddens me that the left hates seeing a minority owned business succeed. At least they show their true colors in doing this, but I feel for the owner and employees of this wonderful minority owned business. Hopefully despite the hate from the left they will provide inspiration for many other Latino owned businesses in the future.

Hats of to the man for standing up and not being silenced and intimidated by BLM and ANTIFA and others that hate this country and our founding fathers. The founder of Goya foods lived in a communist country and realizes how great of a country America is.

Conservatives are outnumbered on most of these efforts. Just look at how people got Bill O'Reilly off the air by putting pressure on his sponsors until they, one by one, began to not advertise on his show, until Fox eventually had to get rid of him. I don't know how much Goya will be affected since simply complimenting the President doesn't seem to meet the same bar.

It’s not an attack on free speech. That would mean preventing them from speaking publicly. What it is is a response to free speech. Free speech responding to free speech. Ugly, bit unnecessary, but not an attack on free speech. Remember when all those conservatives wanted to boycott Nike bc of its partnership with Kaepernick? It’s an exercise in free speech.

Quite a big difference between a company expressing support for the President of the USA, and some Marxist douchebag that further divides the country by the way he chose as his way of getting attention. I don't remember any Goya representatives spitting in the face of Cuban-Americans by wearing a Fidel Castro shirt to a press conference in a city full of Cuban immigrants.

I hope everyone, a la the Chick-fil-A deal years ago, goes out and buys the hell out of Goya Products and donates whatever they don't need to local food banks. My Cuban wife got me on Goya products 30 years ago. Me gusta Goya!

Such a great post. Yes, tell the Cubans who put makeshift rafts in the water in the hopes the current will take them to Florida. I think a virus with a 2% mortality rate would be of little concern to them...

If you grew up in South Florida from say 1960 to the present, you witnessed multiple nationalities and cultures come here with ZERO, only to embrace this country and flourish. There's always one culture that has a perpetual gripe about life.

I was born and raised in Dade County. When the Cubans fled Cuba and arrived I never have seen such a good hard working group of people who did not want a handout they just wanted to have a better life for their families and they worked hard and achieved it. They know the results of communism. The Cuban people that fled communism are a success story. They came to America and made it . They took capitalism and ran with it. They became Americans. They loved there heritage but accepted America. Capitalism is nothing but a great success story . It is what made our country great.
