A source has revealed to CanesCounty.com that third-year sophomore running back Jaylan Knighton intends to enter the transfer portal when the 2022 regular season concludes.

The sophomore did not receive a carry to his credit over the course of Miami’s four-overtime away game win against the Virginia Cavaliers 14-12.

Knighton, the Canes star running back during the 2021 season with 11 total touchdowns, has had his fair share of struggles this season. Three fumbles over the course of four games and multiple injuries since the start of the 2022 season.

The third-year sophomore has carried the ball 43 times for 163 rushing yards in a reduced role this season with the emergence of Ole Miss transfer running back Henry Parrish Jr.

Knighton has carried the ball 240 times for 933 rushing yards and 9 rushing touchdowns on a 3.9 yards-per-carry average over the duration of his college career.

I have Miami as the top school for Brown after he released his top-four last night.

There is growing confidence that Tyler Van Dyke could be available to play next Saturday against Florida State.

Waiting to confirm during practice this week.

I understand that we all wanted amazing things to happen this year but realistically we should have seen these struggles coming. It will take a few years for Mario to get his players in place and it starts with the very different way of recruiting then the previous staff. I love what he has done so far with recruiting and can't wait to see how he finishes. I am hoping that we get bowl eligible and we can use the extra practices for the future.

Is it just me but seems like every time Leonard made an awesome play (TFL or sack) they pull him out. IMO keep the best players on the field.

We may end up 4-8 and no bowl game this year. All star coaches (and top pay) with bush league results. But, it will get better by year five...

The early signing day period is fast approaching in December and while Miami continues to retain their 20 commitments in the 2023 class, every Canes fan has the same yearly question at this point of the season “who is coming in the Spring?”

Garcia probably is not the answer. The play calling did not help today, but big time QBs make big time plays. He did not do that.

Henry Parrish is a godsend

WR core is getting healthy. That’s a plus whenever TVD is healthy

No dates or visits are set, but Bama is in the mix as one potential official. Update on Rivals:

I never thought I would say this but I think we have been poor at the WR position for over a decade and I don’t understand it. How the hell in the state of Florida do we struggle at that position of all positions. Yes there has been a bright spot here and there but for the most part overall it’s been sad IMO.

Miami gained another surprise commitment to the 2023 class with three-star safety Kaleb Spencer late Friday evening. Spencer flipped from the Sooners Friday evening. The timing was unexpected for the Miami staff.

Spencer, a Virginia native, is a dynamic athlete that also played linebacker and visited Miami for the North Carolina game. He is the first official safety on the board for Miami. A concerning situation at DB that looked bleak just earlier this week is all of a sudden a strength. Miami now has the 7th-ranked class, tops in the ACC and Florida.

He committed to Oklahoma in May of this year. He also held offers from Boston College, Duke, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

These kids are already buying in and haven't practiced on Greentree yet.

Will we win first of all can't just guarantee it the way we have been playing but you should be able to just like some our losses already why is Jaylon fumbling this year and is it me or does he look slower this year

Our guy Geo Millian got a chance to speak to some recruits at the game and it was overwhelmingly positive despite the result. I think many kids are seeing the potential of coming to Miami over the short term success.
