Live Game Thread: Miami Baseball Vs. No. 3 Clemson (Game 2)

Clemson starts the scoring with a double down the left-field line. Tigers then load the bases, and Schlesinger hits a batter to drive in the second run.

Miami countered with a run in the 1st as Gonzalez reached on a fielder's choice.
 
A couple of runs in the 4th inning make it a 3-2 game - Clemson leads.

After Clemson put another run on the board with a single. Torres singled up the middle to keep it a one-run game.

Schlesinger still on the mound for the Hurricanes.

He's pitched six innings, allowed five hits, struck out six and walked two (93 total pitches).
 
After 7 innings, Schlesinger is done for the evening. Solid outing allowing three runs on five hits, striking out eight and walking two.

Brian Walters on the mound for Miami.
 
Walters makes an error on a throw to first to put the lead-off man on. A single now has runners at the corners in the 8th inning. Nobody out.
 
Caba comes in for Walters and gets a double play to end the inning. To the bottom of the 8th we go.
 
Calamity in the 8th. With two outs, Torres reached on a dropped pop-up. Costello pinch runs. Jack Scanlon pinch hits for Carlos Perez and pops it up, and Clemson drops the ball again. On the play, Costello tried to round third for home but trips and falls.

Jacoby Long, the next batter strikes out with Costello stranded on third.

On to the 9th we go.
 
Robert gets out of the inning with a pop-up.

Kulikowski and Gutierrez strike out, and Villegas pops out.
