Quite frankly there are too many wide receivers to name here. Braxton Berrios, Travis Benjamin, Phillip Dorsett, Brett Perriman, Mike Harley, Charleston Rambo, Ahmon Richards, Allen Hurns, Wesley Carroll, and Horace Copeland all had memorable careers at Miami.

So many running backs I could have listed in the poll but these are my favorites of all time and the poll only allowed me to list so many.

Graig Cooper, Melvin Bratton, James Jackson, Chuck Foreman, Cleveland Gary, and Mark Walton also would have been running backs I would have listed.

The game of the day was Miami Central vs. Chaminade where the main stars all scored.

Miami prime targets Five-star Ohio State commit Jeremiah Smith, Five-star Joshisa Trader, and four-star Florida State commit LaWayne McCoy all scored touchdowns.

Miami offered Amari Wallace did deny Smith at the goal line with a pass breakup.

Chaminade defeated Miami Central in pool play.

Miami Northwestern defeated Miami Booker T. Washington in pool play. Miami offered Antonio Branch and Ben Hanks not tested much at they both locked down the left side of the field.

Once again too many to choose from here. Rob Chudzinski, Randy Bethel, Chris Herndon, Brevin Jordan all had memorable careers.

I had a chance to catch up with the four-star defensive end from Illinois and he had this to say about why he chose the Hurricanes:

"I fell in love with the campus, the culture, the city, the coaches, and the history. Although I was blessed to have some bigger programs on me like USC and Ohio State, which I seriously considered, Miami kept coming back up in my heart as the right fit."

On just how close Ohio State came to being the pick for him:

"Ohio State recruited me the right way and I was honestly on my way to OSU. I also got a lot of OSU fans plus supporters and coaches, family, etc. around me so OSU made the most sense. I was truly a lock for them, but after my last visit I started to rethink what was best for me, and it was Miami."

On his relationship with the staff and how Miami took the lead:

"My relationship with the staff is great. [Defensive Line Coach] Jason Taylor is the real deal and the visit was great. They showed me a great time and separated themselves from everyone else."

On who he could become at Miami:

"I seen his film. I think I can become the next Jason Taylor."

Four-star defensive end Marquise Lightfoot.

Many believed that Ohio State had the edge in the edge rushers recruitment but Miami has seemed to make it very competitive until the very end.

In 2022, Lightfoot finished his junior season with 122 tackles, 9 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. He was one of the many top talents that visited Miami in the last weekend of June. Miami offered Lightfoot in January of this year and developed a strong relationship with D-Line coach Jason Taylor over the last six months. Lightfoot also officially visited Illinois, USC and the Buckeyes in June.

Lightfoot is set to make his decision on Monday July 3rd at 5 PM eastern. The Chicago native will decide between Alabama, Illinois, Georgia, USC, Ohio State and Miami.

This is not an absolute lock for Miami but Lightfoot seems to be stepping more toward the Hurricanes.

Placed a Futurecast for three-star OT Deryc Plazz this morning. Plazz has been trending to Miami since a decommitment from Penn State last month.

He has since made OV stops to Miami and NC State, his two final schools, but Miami made an impression that stood out since before he was even committed to PSU. This is very much a Tommy Kinsler-type situation where a kid made a choice despite it being close, Miami continued to push and essentially flipped him quickly.

In a weak OL class, Miami has done a good job of snagging their favorite evals like Juan Minaya and now Plazz - who is an athletic 6’5 290-pound prospect.

Interesting thing to watch here is that Plazz is now teammates with 2025 FSU QB commit Tramell Jones, who Miami has started to get in contact with and push for an unofficial visit out of the NCAA ‘Dead Period’.

Hearing that this could be a big week for Miami. More help on the defensive side of the ball - and blue-chip territory too. July and the beginning of August is going to be big for Miami and I am told that a push to the top 10 is extremely realistic. The core of this class - the 14 currently committed - has been built out, very similar to last cycle. Now the staff is focusing on landing major pieces and they seem to be falling in place.

Another DB will be coming off the board. Mario Cristobal continues to break down walls in South Florida and this next commit will be big for multiple potential pipelines. Hearing that there will likely be one more DB take after this one unless a Jaylen Heyward type player wants to join the class.

Romanas "OJ" Frederique and Jacory Barney after weekend visits.

The West Virginia commit made his pledge to the Mountaineers shortly after his visit to Morgantown but now word on the street is that he will flip to Miami.

Frederique was somewhat of a last-minute add to the visit weekend and the relationship between Miami and Frederique has continued to grow. If Frederique does indeed flip to Miami's 2024 class, it would be an already crowded DB group with Isaiah Thomas, Dylan Day, and St. Thomas Aquinas teammate Ryan Mack.

In fact, he would be the third player from the South Florida powerhouse STA with Chance Robinson. Frederique loves Miami and would love for the opportunity to stay close to home.

Jacory Barney in a similar vein loves Miami and wide receivers coach Kevin Beard thinks he can be an NFL player. The visit last weekend seems to be the nail in the coffin on his recruitment. Barney did take a visit to Nebraska who will make one final push to bring him to Lincoln. Hard to believe that goes elsewhere and Miami feels like they are in a good spot to land the four-star wide receiver. Texas A&M is the other team involved in his recruitment.
