By firing Comey Trumputin obviously has somethin to hide. This was done to disrupt the senate & house investigations on Russia meddling in our elections. This should answer the question "why now?"

Also, firing Trump has nothing to do with stopping the investigation. There is bipartisan support for the investigation to be done on ALL issues (Russian hacking, surveillance, etc.), and someone will pronptly become interim acting head of the FBI.
Now, if you want to make the argument that the timing of all of this is suspicious and warrants close scrutinization and answers from the Trump administration because of the optics, then you have a fair point, and even I agree with that. Trump could have fired Comey months ago re: Comey's July 2016 presser and stepping on the DOJ shoes on charges and misconduct. The FBI is a fact finding agency. The DOJ takes the FBI's fact finding and recommendations info and announces charges/no charges re: Hillary's e-mails.
as I stated above, there should be a clear message from the White House as to why Comey was fired now as opposed to 3 to 5 months ago. That question is fair- not inflammatory speculation and a rush to conclude without hard evidence.

I have yet to see any official report stating Trump was so called "putting his own guy in Comey's position." I'm watching both Anderson on CNN and Tucker on Fox right now in the 8:00 PM hour slots and neither of the two have reported on an official replacement.

i've been watching the news since 6:30 PM and all I have seen be confirmed is that Comey is out, the bipartisan investigation is continuing with bipartisan support, and the administration is in the process of nominating a new head of the FBI, who by the way has to be approved by the Senate

What you should be asking for is where is the hard evidence to justify his firing? All I can see is that a dude that lied in his confirmation hearing, then recused himself from the Russia investigation, has now told the President to fire the guy that is investigating him.

The White House has officially stated that Comey's firing was based on letters of recommendation to fire him from attorney general Sessions, as well as the DOJ. Those letters of recommendation contain facts, and Trump made the decision to fire him.
now if you want to be suspicious of that then so be it. That is what the White House is officially saying. I agree the timing is suspicious and I want the bipartisan senate/house intel committees to continue their hearings with the FBI continuing its investigation. I want the facts brought out to the light. What I take issue with is liberals spewing out speculation, rushing to conclusion, and conflating issues.

Frim my understanding Jeff Sessions isn't supposed to be anywhere near this. After all he did recuse himself from the Russian investigation. Wait a minute, the administration's official reason for the termination was because of Director Comey's handling of the Clinton email, something Trump praised for on the campaign trail. Not mentioning Russia allowed him to be involved in this.

The timing is this. The FBI just had to correct Comey after his hearing yeterday. He's allowed the FBI to control politics.
