I thought that ESPN should have played Butterfly Kisses in the background.
While I had no problem with the incredible PDA, anybody who tries to say that this happens all the time with straight guys is kidding them selves. Think of every draft you have ever seen. Has the country ever been exposed to such an intimate moment before?
For example:
* all the arm stroking and back rubbing
* kissing your partner half a dozen times
* the incredibly incessant crying
* the wedding-like cake in the face deal
Again, as a person who roomed with a openly gay man for over a year, as a person who has had dozens of openly gay employees, and as a person who has a gay cousin, a gay nephew, and a gay niece, this episode did not bother me in any way.
But I thought that ESPN went too far in showing the entire episode and shoving this very private and intimate moment in the nation's face.
